About Us
Since 1953, Oak Elementary School has been a cornerstone of the Hinsdale community and is proud to be a U.S. Department of Education Blue Ribbon School. Oak School is comprised of caring and talented students, excellent staff, and incredibly supportive families. It has earned a reputation for academic excellence and for supporting all students in their social-emotional learning. Oak also has the unique opportunity to house the Neighborhood Preschool Program which brings together the youngest learners from across the District. We are committed to preparing all our students to become lifelong learners, creative thinkers, and positive community contributors.

As we embark on many “firsts” this 2025-2026 school year, I thought it appropriate for this year’s theme to be “New Beginnings, Exciting Adventures, Endless Opportunities.” Some of the new and exciting adventures this year include: all day kindergarten, a new and expanded playground, new safety measures (privacy fence and cement bollards), new hallway floors, fresh paint in several areas, enhanced lighting in several areas, new student and staff members, and of course, a completed new addition to our building that adds 4 more classrooms and 2 small group/offices. As our school went through many physical changes, I’m now excited for the many learning opportunities ahead.
When we think about academic growth, student well-being, and overall success, it's clear that none of it would be possible without our entire Oak School community! We are a team of dedicated staff, talented students, and supportive families all working together. At Oak School, I believe we can truly make a difference in our students' lives. I'm dedicated to working with our amazing team to achieve District 181's vision: to equip every student with the skills and confidence to change the world.
